Privacy Policy
How STL Mesh handles files, analytics, advertising, and contact. Written for this site as it actually works.
This Privacy Policy describes how STL Mesh collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://stlmesh.com. It is not a generic template. The tools here are a viewer and a set of converters for STL, GLB, 3MF, and OBJ. What follows is limited to those pages and to the third-party scripts they actually load.
Your model files never leave the device
Every tool on this site — the viewer on the homepage and every converter — runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript and WebGL. When you drop a file, the page parses it locally, draws it, and, if you export, writes a new file back to your disk.
Model files are never uploaded. They never leave your device. No server we operate ever receives them. This site has no upload endpoint. We do not store your files in any form: not on a server, not in a database, not in a cache we control, and not in logs. After the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network, drop a model, rotate it, and export it. Everything still works. That is the proof that preview and conversion do not depend on sending the mesh anywhere.
The same rule covers the viewer, GLB to STL, 3MF to STL, OBJ to STL, STL to GLB, and STL to OBJ.
Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity
This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for aggregate usage statistics: page views, approximate location, device type, and — in Clarity — session replays of user-interface interaction.
Google Analytics 4 may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device. It can collect the page URL, referrer, approximate geographic region, device and browser type, and session duration. Google processes that data under its own terms. Read Google's Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Clarity may also set cookies or identifiers. In addition to similar usage statistics, Clarity records session replays of UI interaction: clicks, scrolls, cursor movement, and how the page layout was used. Those replays show the site interface, not the bytes of a model file. Model file contents are never visible to Google, Microsoft, or us, because the files never leave your device and are never uploaded. Read Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
We use these reports to see which tools people open and whether a page is broken on a given browser. We do not sell personal information. We do not use analytics to identify you as an individual. You can typically limit cookies in your browser settings; doing so does not change how the viewer and converters work, because those tools do not depend on analytics.
Advertising
This site may show advertisements served by third-party ad networks in the future. If and when that happens, this policy will name those networks and describe what they collect. Currently, no advertising scripts are present. There are no ad tags, no ad iframes, and no requests to advertising servers.
No accounts, no email list
There are no user accounts on STL Mesh. We do not ask you to register, sign in, or choose a password. We do not run a newsletter signup, and we do not collect email addresses through any form on this site.
The only email we receive is mail you choose to send to support@stlmesh.com. If you write to us, we use your address and the content of your message to reply. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list. Please do not attach confidential models; describe the file instead. See Contact for what to include in a bug report.
